My brother's leaving again. This time, he's headed for Philadelphia to go to career college at the Sanford Brown Institute Philly, a school he's been looking at for a while. While I'm sad to see him go, I know this is something he's wanted to do since high school. Though initially he was interested in dentistry and nursing, he has now decided to enroll in one of the school's medical billing programs. I swear, the kid has ADD or something.
Medical billing is basically just what it sounds like. They code your medical expenses and deal with insurance companies to make sure there's no fraud or whatnot. The pay is comfortable and there are even some billers who can work from home. A lot of computers and math seems to be involved, which sounds just up my brother's alley. It's an apparently a growing field and Sanford Brown is supposed to have a pretty decent program for medical billing.
He still hasn't offered an idea about how he'll pay for it. I'm guessing he's counting on some financial aid, whether it be from Sanford Brown or parents. I wouldn't hold my breath; the folks still haven't gotten back to me about possibly helping out with buying a car.
