People who are attending college at golf academies may get some raised eyebrows from their peers at other schools. A lot of people just don't take golf jobs very seriously. The truth of the matter, however, is that there are a lot of benefits to golf jobs.
The biggest benefit is, of course, the chance to get to spend time doing what you love which is playing golf. Even people who don't go into professional golf careers but who work in other types of golf jobs will have the opportunity to do a lot of golfing during the course of their employment.
These people will also have the chance to meet others who also enjoy golf. This is terrific because it means that the job itself will be a great tool for socializing throughout the course of a lifetime. Many adults have trouble making friends at their jobs because they don't have a lot in common with others there but that's not true for people in golf jobs.
Finally, there is the perk of being able to get a job in many different wonderful locations. Golf courses are located throughout the world and many of them are in great cities. You can relocate and easily find a golf job at a place that's so beautiful that you won't believe that you get paid to spend your time there.

I can't imagine a better job for a young golfer than working on a course, or teaching golf. You get to do what you want all day and get paid for it. Sweet!
I think that people who don't play golf are seriously missing out on the social aspects of the game. You can play golf anywhere in the world and make new friends. Golfers are like some kind of international fraternity.
One of the things that I love most about playing golf is that you're outdoors on a nice day playing a game you love in beautiful surroundings. I really relish being out under a blue sky, seeing the birds and rabbits, sometimes even coyotes on the course.
Working at a golf course is actually a great idea for anyone who wants to go into the business world. Most executives play golf, so playing with the boss is a great way to advance your career.
Even if you never play on the Pro Tour, becoming a good golfer could guarantee that you'll have a good job in the future as a golf pro at a local course or country club, or even just working in the pro shop recommending clubs and shoes and stuff to customers.
If you can become a good golfer, you might be able to work overseas. Think about that; golf could be your ticket to a really cool job in Japan or the Middle East at one of the world-class courses there.
Golf jobs are a great way for foreigners to become more Americanized. If you can learn to play well and join a local course or country club then you can have a ready-made peer group of American friends.
